Frustration among teacher job aspirants in the state is nearing a breaking point as the government continues to issue Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) notifications twice a year but has not released a District Selection Committee (DSC) notification for teacher recruitment. Aspirants allege that repeated TET exams are being used to delay actual hiring.

After the last DSC recruitment held between July 20 and August 5, 2024, the government has conducted TET exams four times and now issued a fifth notification. Candidates question how long they must keep appearing for TET without recruitment and are demanding an immediate DSC notification to fill 10,000–15,000 posts.

Durgam Harish, a DSC aspirant from Mancherial, said 15,000 teacher posts be notified before the current TET cycle concludes and demanded immediate notification. D. Sudharani from Hanamkonda district has written TET 10 times AND URGED THE urged the government to issue notifications for vacancies in Model Schools and Gurukuls.

They highlight that since Telangana’s formation, TET has been conducted nine times, while DSC has been held only twice. This disparity has drawn criticism from unemployed youth preparing for years. Previous DSC notifications included 8,792 posts in 2017 and 10,062 posts in February 2024, while multiple TET exams were conducted from 2016 to 2026.

Aspirants also point out that a promised DSC notification for 5,000 additional posts, included in the job calendar, has not materialised even after two years. They estimate around 15,000 teacher vacancies, including SGT, School Assistant, Language Pandit, and PET posts, arising from retirements and promotions. With about 3.5 lakh aspirants, including 3 lakh TET-qualified candidates, the pressure is mounting.
