Neglected Parents, Ganges Ashes & Oscar Fiasco

Longevity is scary especially with medicare being expensive and care of the elders not being top priority. Maybe that is why the Telangana Legislative Assembly passed the Telangana Employees Accountability and Monitoring of Parental Support Bill, 2026 on March 29, 2026. Neglected parents can file petitions with the Collector, who must resolve them within 60 days. While the punishment is capped at Rs. 10,000, how many parents would come forward to make a complaint is the main question.

The few dialogues are in Hindi. An inner journey is long and sometimes it takes a lifetime.

Meanwhile on Jio Hotstar, I clicked on One Battle After Another, because it said it has Leonardo Di Caprio and has received six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Penn), and Best Casting. The movie is based on a book Vineland by Thomas Pynchon and directed into a film by Paul Thomas Anderson.  It is about a far-left militant revolutionary group, the French 75. The movie convolutes and is about revenge and white supremacy and there is constant running around, a military presence and a weed-addled Leonardo. Sean Penn wins hands down for his presence. Why was this film given so many awards?
