Naidu to visit Delhi for key meetings

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to undertake another crucial visit to New Delhi on Monday night to hold a series of high-level meetings with senior Union ministers on issues of vital importance to the state. According to official sources, the Chief Minister will depart from Vijayawada’s Gannavaram Airport at 7.20 p.m. and is scheduled to reach Delhi by 9.35 p.m. He will stay overnight at his 1-Janpath residence.

On Tuesday morning, Chandrababu Naidu will begin discussions with key members of the Union Cabinet, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other senior central ministers. A major focus of the visit will be the Polavaram irrigation project. The Chief Minister is expected to meet Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil to seek the release of pending dues for Polavaram, discuss rehabilitation and resettlement packages, and expedite approvals for new projects related to the initiative.

He will also hold discussions with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to press for faster release of funds allocated to Andhra Pradesh in the recent Union Budget. The Chief Minister is likely to seek early disbursement of grants and financial assistance promised to the state. Another important subject on the agenda is the development of Amaravati as the state capital. Chandrababu Naidu will discuss the progress of bank loans for capital construction and the release of central grants required for ongoing infrastructure projects.

Officials said the Chief Minister will also brief the Union government on the upcoming visit of Microsoft founder Bill Gates to Andhra Pradesh on February 16. During his Delhi meetings, Chandrababu Naidu is expected to highlight technological initiatives and investment opportunities in the state in preparation for Gates’ visit.
