Alleges BRS and BJP secret understanding
Dares BJP to arrest former CM KCR

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Centre and the BRS, alleging that the Union government has given ‘gadidhi guddu’ roughly translated “nothing but a donkey’s egg” to Telangana and that the BJP and BRS are bound by a “Fevicol-like secret understanding.”
Addressing the Praja Palana Pragathi Baata public meeting at Gumlapur village in Choppadandi mandal of Karimnagar district, the Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had betrayed Telangana by failing to grant national project status to the Polavaram lift irrigation scheme, despite promising it in 2014. He alleged that the Centre had not released even a single paisa to the State.
Revanth Reddy said the Telangana Assembly had passed a resolution seeking a CBI probe into alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram project and sent it to the Centre, but no action had been taken so far. He dared the BJP to prove its sincerity by arresting former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), former minister T. Harish Rao and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao in the Kaleshwaram case before the municipal elections.
He accused the BRS of plundering the State during its ten-year rule and pushing farmers, women and unemployed youth into distress. He further alleged that after being rejected by the people, the BRS worked for the BJP during the parliamentary elections and “sacrificed everything” to help the BJP win eight Lok Sabha seats from Telangana.
Claiming that the BJP had done “absolutely nothing” for the State, the Chief Minister said that whenever municipal elections approach, the party brings its national leaders for campaigning. He mocked the Union Budget, saying the Centre had again handed Telangana a “donkey’s egg,” and added that BJP leaders should at least realise why people would not vote for them.
Revanth Reddy said if he presented the financial accounts of the Centre and the previous BRS government to leaders like G. Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, KCR and KTR, “their hearts would burst.” He reiterated that there was a dark, unspoken agreement between the BJP and BRS.
The Chief Minister asserted that the Congress government had achieved more in two years than what the BRS did in ten years in Telangana and the BJP did in twelve years at the national level. He said the government had already provided jobs to 70,000 people and challenged anyone with doubts to come to LB Stadium, where he would explain the figures in detail.
Highlighting welfare initiatives, Revanth Reddy said the Congress government had started supplying fine rice to the poor, increased cosmetic charges for students, introduced the breakfast scheme, and was constructing integrated schools. He said providing free power to farmers was the achievement of the Congress government.
He also listed women-centric schemes, including free bus travel and the Indiramma housing programme. He accused the previous BRS government of failing to deliver double-bedroom houses and alleged corruption even in the distribution of Bathukamma sarees.
Revanth Reddy further alleged that during the BRS regime, phones of ordinary citizens, political leaders, journalists and film stars were tapped. “Voting for such people in municipal elections would be like poking our own eyes with our fingers,” he warned.
Godavari temple corridor, tourism push
The Chief Minister announced that with the Godavari Pushkaralu scheduled in 2027, the government would develop temples along the Godavari corridor from Basar to Bhadrachalam. He said eco-tourism would be promoted and these locations would be developed as major tourist destinations.
Taking a dig at BRS leaders, he said KCR, KTR and Harish Rao never visited the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma jatara, claiming they felt ashamed to worship the “gods of the poor.” He asserted that despite curses from the opposition, the Congress would remain in power for another eight years and transform Telangana into the number one State in the country.
Karimnagar development promises
Revanth Reddy promised the construction of an Outer Ring Road for Karimnagar. He said Warangal and Karimnagar would be developed as twin cities, with a dump yard between them to generate electricity.
He criticised Bandi Sanjay, saying he had brought nothing to the State and lacked the courage to question Modi. He challenged Sanjay to stop making noise against the Congress and instead push for a CBI probe into Kaleshwaram and ensure KCR’s arrest.
Calling upon party workers to hoist the Congress flag in Karimnagar in the municipal elections, the Chief Minister assured that he would return and ensure comprehensive development of the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation.
Meeting with candidates
Later, Revanth Reddy held a meeting with Congress candidates contesting the Karimnagar municipal elections. He told them that elections are won not with money but with trust, and urged them to instil confidence among the people. Describing the polls as “workers’ elections,” he said the party would grow stronger only when grassroots workers were given due importance. He asked leaders to treat the elections BOXas prestigious and work with full commitment.
State to set up advanced technology centres: Sridhar Babu
Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Thursday said the State government is establishing advanced technology centres in colleges along with expanding the number of degree colleges to strengthen higher education and skill development.
Addressing a public meeting at Gumlapur in Choppadandi mandal along with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the minister said the government is implementing key welfare schemes such as free power up to 200 units, supply of fine rice, and free bus travel for women in RTC services. He added that more than 70,000 jobs have been filled through the Telangana Public Service Commission, reflecting the government’s commitment to employment generation.
