Minister visits accident victims’ families

On the directives of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh visited Samarlakota mandal in Kakinada district on Sunday and consoled the families of the victims who lost their lives in the accident at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Vetlapalem village on Saturday. 

The minister, along with  Kakinada MP Thangella Uday Srinivas and Kakinada Jana Sena Party in-charge and DCCB chairman Tummala Ramaswamy Babu handed over the ex-gratia cheques of Rs 20 lakh each. The deceased have been identified as Darsipati Nani (38), Edida Sampath Kumar (25), Gampala Manga (43), Gampala Nagaraju (45), Mandapalli Chinni (44), Godatha Mahesh (41), Veera Venkata Ramana (48), Kadampally Dhanaraju (55) and Makara Raghavamma (55) of Pedabrahmadevam. 

On this occasion, Minister Durgesh visited the houses of the members in their village and assured them of support on behalf of the government. He said that the intention of the government is that the lost people cannot be brought back but their families should not face problems. He inquired about the cause of the accident and assured that strict action would be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future.
