Minister performs ‘Shramdaan’ for construction of Dr. Ambedkar’s statue

Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu on Monday performed “Shramdaan” (manual work)  for the construction of Ambedkar statue slab at Arundhatipet in Chintaparru village. Along with the SC leaders of the area ,he personally participated in the construction of the statue slab on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar. Earlier in the day, he garlanded the statue of Ambedkar and paid homage to him. 

In his early days as minister, a decision was taken to lay slabs on all the statues of Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram in Palakol assembly constituency. As part of this, on Ambedkar jayanti, “shramdaan” was performed in the statue slab works. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ramanaidu said that he entered politics with the inspiration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and had set up a foundation in the name of his father Dharma Rao. 

He said slab constructions for all the statues of Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram in the constituency would be completed in a phased manner and that it gave a lot of happiness and satisfaction to take part in the installation and preservation of statues of great personalities. Stating that Ambedkar's ideology is inextricably linked to the “P4” scheme of the present government, he said that as an Ambedkarite in line with the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar, he is constantly working in public service. Leaders Savarapu Venkateswarlu, Merupe Kishore, Kondeti Buddha and others participated in the event.
