The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) organised a conference on “Cost Optimisation & Future Energy Technologies for MSMEs” in Hyderabad, bringing together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, financial institutions and energy experts.
Organised with SIDBI and RICH as supporting partners and Kehansri Solar as Associate Partner, the conference focused on energy cost reduction, efficiency and future-ready technologies for MSMEs.
FTCCI President K.K. Maheshwari said MSME competitiveness increasingly depends on efficient production, cost management, resource optimisation and adaptation to changing technologies. Rising energy costs and sustainability expectations, he said, present both challenges and opportunities.
FTCCI Energy Committee Chair Sushil Kumar Sancheti said MSMEs contribute around 30% of GDP and 48% of exports, but have considerable scope to improve efficiency. Greater adoption of energy-saving measures and renewable energy could reduce expenditure and dependence on costly grid power, he said.
With MSMEs often operating on profit margins of just 5–10%, energy efficiency could directly improve profitability. However, awareness, affordability and attractive payback periods remain key to wider adoption, Sancheti said.
Sessions covered energy audits and cost reduction, SIDBI financing for energy efficiency, renewable energy and smart energy management. The RAMP Greening of MSME Initiative also featured innovation showcases, industry case studies, water and wastewater management solutions, and environmental compliance. The conference highlighted energy transition as an important opportunity to strengthen MSME competitiveness and profitability.
