In a bid to strengthen emergency preparedness and maintain law and order, a special midnight mobilisation drill was conducted by the Golconda Zone Police at the Hockey Grounds, Masab Tank, under the supervision of DCP G. Chandra Mohan.
The exercise was carried out following directions from Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to enhance the city police’s readiness during emergencies. Around 650 personnel, including Home Guards, constables, inspectors and officers up to the rank of ACP from all police stations under the Golconda Zone, participated in the drill.
The mock exercise focused on testing how quickly personnel could assemble at a designated location in the event of an untoward incident. Officials assessed response time, deployment efficiency and coordination among teams. Clear instructions were issued to ensure that officers at all levels effectively carried out their assigned responsibilities while adhering to the command structure.
Police authorities also inspected the availability and working condition of essential emergency equipment such as public address systems, riot gear and other protective paraphernalia.
DCP Chandra Mohan personally reviewed the arrangements and assessed the alertness of personnel at key points around Masab Tank during late-night hours.
