45 officers shifted to revamp Administration

In a significant administrative restructuring, the Telangana government has issued orders for the transfer of 45 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, affecting critical departments, district collectorates, and various corporations. The move, effective immediately, aims to enhance efficiency in governance, welfare schemes, and infrastructure development across the state.

Among the prominent changes, Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as Special Chief Secretary to the Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Rural Water Supply & Sanitation, and Rural Sanitation & Drinking Water Department, relieving N. Sridhar. N. Sridhar, in turn, takes over as Principal Secretary to the Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) and Industries & Commerce Departments, while retaining full additional charge (FAC) as Principal Secretary for Mines & Geology.

Rahul Bojja moves from Principal Secretary, Irrigation & Command Area Development (I&CAD) Department, to Principal Secretary (Political), General Administration Department, with FAC as Principal Secretary, Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Department. E. Sridhar assumes the role of Secretary, I&CAD Department. M. Dana Kishore, previously Special Chief Secretary, Labour, Employment, Training & Factories, is now in FAC as Special Chief Secretary (Disaster Management), Revenue Department.

Sabyasachi Ghosh has been redesignated as Special Chief Secretary for Implementation of Flagship Welfare & Developmental Schemes and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Dr. Gaurav Uppal shifts from Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi, to Secretary, Finance & Planning Department, with FAC as Managing Director, Telangana Medical Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGMSIDC).

District collector posts saw extensive changes: Chitra Mishra to Karimnagar; Deepak Tewari to Vikarabad; Ankit to Bhadradri Kothagudem; Chahat Bajpai to Hanamkonda (with FAC as GWMC Commissioner); Khushboo Gupta to Mahabubnagar; Garima Agrawal to Rajanna Sircilla; Prateek Jain to Narayanpet; Rizwanbasha Shaik to Jogulamba Gadwal; Sneha Shabarish to Mahabubabad; Anuraag Jayanti to Yadadri Bhuvanagiri; Pratima Singh to Medak; and Sandeep Kumar Jha to Jangaon.

Other notable postings include M. Hanumantha Rao as Director, Endowments (with FAC as Special Officer, Godavari Pushkaralu); Pamela Satpathy as Special Commissioner, Labour; Jitesh V. Patil as Chairman & Managing Director, TGSPDCL; MD. Musharraf Ali Faruqui as CMD, third DISCOM (New); and Adwait Kumar Singh as Special Secretary, Coordination (GoI Projects & CSS) in New Delhi.

Several officers, including B. Vijiendra (to Secretary, TGSWREIS & Commissioner, SCD), D. Divya (FAC as State Nodal Officer, Prajavani), and Sikta Patnaik (Special Secretary, Finance), have been reassigned to bolster social welfare and financial oversight. Additional Collectors (Local Bodies) were appointed in districts like Narayanpet, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Nagarkurnool, Mancherial, Warangal, Siddipet, Nirmal, and Wanaparthy, with names such as G. Phaneendra Reddy, Faizan Ahmed, Uma Shankar Prasad, GV Shyam Prasad Lal, P. Chandraiah, YV Ganesh, Abdul Hameed, B. Venkateshwarlu, and N. Kheemya Naik.

This reshuffle, the largest in recent times, covers urban governance (e.g., GHMC Zonal Commissioners like Manda Makarandu and Parmar Pinkeshkumar Lalitkumar), cooperatives (Rahul Raj P.S as Special Commissioner), and specialized cells (K. Vidyasagar as Additional CEO, Industry & Investment Cell).
