A fire broke out at the Mangala Gowri Shopping Mall in Jubilee Hills on Thursday afternoon, triggering panic in the busy commercial locality. However, no injuries or casualties were reported, officials confirmed.

According to police and fire department authorities, the blaze started around 11.20 am in the building located on Road No. 36, which houses a saree showroom and other garment outlets. Renovation works were reportedly underway at the time of the incident. Officials said the building was largely vacant and did not contain significant material inside.

Five workers present in the premises were safely evacuated soon after the fire was detected. In a swift response, three fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control. Personnel from nearby fire stations, along with the Disaster Response Force and local police, coordinated efforts to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.

Television visuals showed flames leaping from the exterior of the structure and thick smoke billowing into the air, drawing large crowds. The incident also led to heavy traffic congestion in the area, forcing authorities to divert vehicles to ease movement for emergency teams.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
