Six couples tied the knot under the guidance of the Prabhandak Committee of Gurudwara Baram Bala, Sikh Chawniat, Kishanbag in the presence of hundreds of members of the Sikh community from different parts of Telangana on Sunday. It was held with the Prabhandak Committee in cooperation with Sadh Sangat and Gurudwara Saheb Prabhandak Committees of Telangana state. Religious Heads from Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded who were specially invited for the occasion blessed the couples.
Most of the brides and bridegrooms hailed from Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Maharashtra and nearby regions. The Prabhandak Committee President S. Chetan Singh Shikari, Secretary S. Rajbeer Singh, Chairman S. Harbans Singh and Advisor S. Iqbal Singh and others said the initiative was aimed at supporting families unable to afford extravagant weddings, which often cost several lakhs of rupees.
