Andhra Pradesh’s capital city Amaravati is set to strengthen its hospitality and tourism infrastructure with the launch of an international-standard hotel project under the globally renowned Marriott group. The foundation stone for the prestigious “Courtyard by Marriott” hotel was laid on Friday in the heart of the capital region near the Krishna riverfront. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh and Industries Minister TG Bharath, who performed the traditional rituals and formally inaugurated the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kandula Durgesh said the establishment of an international hospitality brand such as Marriott in Amaravati reflects growing investor confidence in the capital region and aligns with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of transforming Amaravati into a world-class global city. According to project representatives, the hotel will feature 175 premium rooms along with modern facilities including a large swimming pool, banquet hall, business lounge and multi-cuisine restaurant. The property is designed to cater to international tourists, business delegates and investors visiting the capital region.
The hotel is coming up opposite the AP CRDA office at Lingayapalem in Thullur mandal of Guntur district. Construction is expected to be completed by December 2028. Representatives of the project expressed confidence that Amaravati’s rapid development and strategic importance make it an ideal destination for international hospitality investments. Southern Travels, Globe Civil Projects Limited and Delta Pure are among the key partners associated with the venture. Officials noted that the project would significantly enhance the hospitality ecosystem in the capital region while supporting tourism, business travel and international events in Amaravati.
