State Cabinet Meeting was held for a marathon six hours at a stretch on Thursday. The meeting started at 3 pm and went on till 9 pm. Post the meeting, CM Revanth and ministers discussed on political strategies and MLC battle, it is learnt.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy-led Council of Ministers held discussions on the new Bhu Bharathi system that will replace Dharani, new Board for the ambitious Future City project, setting up a special committee for monitoring the River Waters issue with Andhra Pradesh.
The Cabinet is learnt to have approved 21,000 Village Level Officer (VLO) posts in villages. While 10,954 new posts will be created, in the remaining opportunity will be given for eligible VROs. Junior Assistant pay scale has been finalized for the VLOs.
Creation of 217 posts for 2 newly formed Revenue Divisions, 33 Selection Grade Deputy Collector Posts, establishment of 10 new Courts in the state were some of the key issues that figured in the meetings. Also, the dates for Assembly budget session were finalized. The budget session is scheduled from March 12 to March 27, with budget to be introduced on March 19.
The Assembly will be adjourned for holidays on March 14, 15, and 16. Legislative business, including the introduction of bills, will be conducted on March 17 and 18. The state government will present the budget in both the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council on March 19. March 20 will be a holiday.
Discussions on the budget, along with other legislative business, will take place from March 21 onwards. The Appropriation Bill is expected to be passed on March 27 or 29, followed by an indefinite adjournment. Initially, the government had planned to continue the sessions until March 29. However, considering the request from the AIMIM party, the government has decided to introduce the Appropriation Bill on March 27, as the last Friday before Ramadan falls on March 28.
