Man arrested with 610 kg rotten chicken

Hyderabad City Police, Secunderabad Zone, apprehended a food adulteration offender at A-1 Fresh Chicken Mart, Bapuji Nagar, Musheerabad. On Tuesday, based on credible information, decoy staff inspected the premises and found the chicken in a decomposed and unhygienic state.

During the search, conducted under proper procedure by Sub-Inspector K Rama Chandra Reddy and staff along with independent mediators, approximately 610 kg of frozen chicken was seized. The meat emitted a foul odor and was contaminated by rats and cats. The shop owner, Shaik Shakeel, 40, continued to sell the unfit chicken to local residents and petty vendors despite knowing its condition. Investigations revealed that the trading license of the chicken mart had expired a year ago.

Shakeel has been booked for food adulteration and negligence in handling food unfit for human consumption. The operation was led by Dy. Commissioner of Police Smt. K Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, IPS, Secunderabad Zone, with supervision from Asst. Commissioner K Shashank Reddy, Chilkalguda Division, and assistance from Inspector G Rajendar Goud and the PS Warasiguda staff.
