Telangana Rajyadhikara Party chief and MLC Teenmar Mallanna has extended complete support to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) employees’ strike scheduled to begin on April 22, stating that the struggle will continue until all legitimate demands are fulfilled.

RTC employees and union representatives met Mallanna at his office on Sunday and briefed him about their long-pending issues. They urged him to extend political support to their proposed strike seeking resolution of various service-related grievances.

Responding to their appeal, Mallanna assured them of his full backing and said that his party would stand firmly with RTC workers throughout their agitation. He stated that the issues faced by RTC employees have been ignored for a long time and require immediate attention from the government.

He also criticised the ruling government, alleging that it has failed to honour assurances given to RTC employees during elections. According to him, the repeated neglect of workers’ concerns has forced them to resort to protest once again.

Mallanna demanded that the government take immediate steps to resolve key issues including opposition to privatisation of RTC services, revision of wages, job security, clearance of pending dues, and improvement of working conditions. He also expressed concern over the growing involvement of private players in RTC operations, particularly through the introduction of electric buses, and urged the government to roll back such measures if they undermine public transport workers’ interests.

He further stated that the Telangana Rajyadhikara Party will intensify pressure on the government until justice is delivered to RTC employees. Mallanna reiterated that the strike is not politically motivated but a fight for legitimate rights and dignity of workers.

He assured that his party will continue to support the movement in all possible ways and stand by the employees until their demands are addressed. He also appealed to the government to initiate dialogue with workers’ representatives and resolve the issues before the situation escalates further.
