Libraries treasures of knowledge: Collector

District Collector K. Haritha has emphasized that libraries are treasure houses of knowledge and urged the youth to develop a reading habit, stating that books can open doors to employment, knowledge enhancement, and joyful experiences. On Friday, the District Central Library hosted a Library Day celebration as part of the ‘Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika’ program. Collector K. Haritha attended the event along with District Library Chairman Kamde Anil, Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO)  Lokeshwar Rao and District Education Officer (DEO) Lalitha.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector Haritha said that youth must make reading books a regular habit. Libraries house a wealth of resources including novels, history books and biographies of great personalities, she stated.  She described libraries as excellent platforms for candidates preparing for government jobs. She called upon all sections of society to actively contribute to the development of libraries. During the program, individuals who secured government jobs through reading in the library were felicitated with shawls. Poets were also honored in a grand manner.
