Govt land allotment to CM’s brother’s firm

BRS working president and MLA K.T. Rama Rao has demanded a comprehensive investigation into the allotment of valuable government land to Tesseract Advanced Systems, alleging that the company is linked to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s brother, Anumula Kondal Reddy.

He alleged that the matter could be one of the biggest irregularities involving government land in the state. According to KTR, several details in the company’s records appeared suspicious. He claimed that the company website listed “123456789” as its phone number and alleged that the company had no employees as of March 31, 2025.

He also said its paid-up capital was only Rs 1 lakh and that a small address in the Patancheru area had been listed as its office. KTR alleged that the Revanth Reddy government had allotted nearly five acres of government land to the company, 

which he claimed was worth around Rs 200 crore, for approximately Rs 7 crore, or about Rs 3,700 per square yard. Questioning the decision, he asked how a company with one employee and Rs 1 lakh in paid-up capital could qualify for such a valuable allocation.

He demanded that the government make public the government orders, land valuation, eligibility criteria, investment proposals, employment commitments and details of the officials involved in the allotment. KTR also questioned Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu’s reported claim that Kondal Reddy had no connection with Tesseract. He pointed to Kondal Reddy’s LinkedIn profile and references by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum identifying him as the company’s chairman. KTR asked how the minister could deny the connection when such information was publicly available.

The BRS leader  referred to an MoU reportedly signed with Suchch Bio during Revanth Reddy’s visit to the United States, involving a proposed investment or agreement worth around Rs 1,000 crore, and said the party would examine whether land was subsequently allotted to the company or investments materialized. KTR said the BRS would not drop the Tesseract issue and would soon approach the Telangana Governor with a formal complaint.

He said the party would also consider approaching the Lokayukta and courts if necessary. KTR said the BRS would continue its campaign until the allegations concerning government land, contracts and possible abuse of authority were brought before the public, asserting that the party would pursue the matter and hold those responsible accountable.

KTR opposes move to cancel approvals for irrigation projects

KTR opposed attempts to cancel approvals granted to seven irrigation projects in Telangana, alleging that the Andhra Pradesh government is seeking the withdrawal of permissions already granted by the Centre. He also criticized the decision to include the issue in the agenda of the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) meeting. 

KTR demanded that the Telangana government boycott the meeting, calling the proposed agenda contrary to the state’s interests. KTR warned that the BRS would launch a “water movement” in Telangana if the government failed to boycott the GRMB meeting and remove the proposal from its agenda. KTR also criticized Telangana’s Congress and BJP MPs for failing to raise the state’s interests in Parliament. He pointed out that the Centre had granted national project status to schemes such as Ken-Betwa, Polavaram and Upper Bhadra, while Parliament had been informed that the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme would not receive national status.
