Kodad job fair a success

Over 30,000 registrations; 5,625 candidates shortlisted

metro india news  I KODAD : In a massive recruitment exercise aimed specifically at opening employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth from rural pockets, the Kodad Mega Job Mela brought together around 350 companies, attracted over 30,000 registrations and concluded with 5,625 candidates shortlisted.

Spearheaded by Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Kodad MLA N. Padmavathi Reddy, the September 19 initiative placed rural unemployment at the centre of a large-scale industry–youth engagement.

The mela’s outreach extended across Suryapet, Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongir, Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts. Companies representing information technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, healthcare, banking, retail and other sectors offered candidates a common platform to explore employment opportunities.

Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies highlighted the difficulties faced by rural families that make considerable sacrifices to educate their children. Even after completing engineering, pharmacy, management and polytechnic courses, many young people struggle to identify vacancies, establish contact with employers or travel repeatedly to cities for interviews.

The initiative sought to connect two groups that often remain separated despite their mutual needs- companies looking for qualified personnel and educated rural youth looking for a first opportunity. By facilitating direct interaction, the mela gave candidates a chance to present their qualifications, attend interviews and understand the requirements of organised-sector employment.

Building on the earlier Huzurnagar job mela experience held last year, the Kodad exercise involved preparatory engagement with industrialists, educational institutions and district administrations. Mobilisation across five districts sought to ensure that recruitment opportunities reached young people beyond the usual urban employment networks. The Industries Department and Singareni Collieries Company Limited supported the initiative.

Addressing the youths attended job mela, the Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar said the exercise was milestone in Rural employment outreach in the State.

Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Ministe for IT and Industries, D. Sridharbabu, Minister for Roads and Buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy,  Adluri Lakhman Kumar,  Uttam Kumar Reddy,  Padmavathi Reddy and the District Collector, Tejas Nandlal Pawar  took part in the  job Mela enthusing the young participants.
