In the last one and a half years, almost 10 lakh youths have been given permanent government jobs by the Modi government. The central government is conducting the recruitment process transparently in a mission mode, based on candidates’ qualifications and talent, said Union Minister Kishan Reddy. He handed over appointment letters to the newly selected recruits of the Central Government under the 14th tranche of Rozgar mela held on Monday.

“The central government is taking necessary steps to create a large number of jobs in the private sector by harnessing the entrepreneurial skills of the youth through programs like Startup India and Standup India, moving them from job seekers to job creators. He called on youth to utilize the opportunities provided by the government,” said Kishan Reddy

Kishan Reddy also said that India is attaining ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in defence industry and is emerging as a global manufacturing hub. From the importer, India has become an exporter due to the steps taken by the government in the last few years. In the defence sector, exports were ₹900 crores in 2014, but now we are exporting nearly Rs 15,000 crores. Our defence products are being exported to nearly 75 countries, which has also significantly increased employment, he added.

Push for digital India, reforms in digital transactions and the Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) system have brought major changes and have been significant drivers of employment, he said.

He added that in 2014, India had only two mobile companies, but now 99% of mobile phones are manufactured within India. India is providing 4G internet services at the lowest rates in the world after China. 5G technology has become available to common man, creating more opportunities for the youth. Now we have reached the stage of exporting cell phones to about 150 countries, including America, the UK, and Germany.
