The Arya Vysya community has expressed deep disappointment over the response of political parties, including the BJP and BRS, in the aftermath of the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident, which claimed the life of Revathi while her son Sritej is still in coma in KIMS Hospital. Addressing the media on Monday, Telangana Arya Vysya Corporation Chairperson Kalva Sujatha highlighted the lack of attention given to the grieving family by political leaders.
Sujatha criticized BJP senior leader Dr. K Laxman for publicly supporting actor Allu Arjun without equally acknowledging the pain and loss suffered by the affected family, who belong to the Arya Vysya community. “While arrests of celebrities like Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt were handled without political interference, the opposition parties here seem to be siding with the celebrity instead of ensuring justice for the affected family,” she lamented.
The Chairperson also pointed out that none of the leaders visited the hospitalized child or the bereaved family until yesterday, further adding to the community’s anguish.
To address this issue, Sujatha announced a meeting on December 27 with community elders, associations, and Arya Vysya political leaders from BJP, BRS, and also Congress to discuss the future course of action. “We are committed to ensuring justice for the affected family and standing by them during this difficult time,” she said.
