KIMS launches latest TrueBeam technology

Metro India News | Hyderabad : KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, has introduced state-of-the-art radiation oncology technologies, including the TrueBeam Linear Accelerator integrated with Brainlab Dynamic Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT). Dr B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMS Group of Hospitals, inaugurated the new technologies on Wednesday. He said that by combining technology with the expertise of experienced medical professionals, the hospital aims to deliver advanced and patient-centric treatment.

Dr T. Pratap Reddy, Head of Radiation Oncology, KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, said that features such as real-time monitoring of patient movements, six-dimensional patient positioning corrections and respiratory motion management help enhance the accuracy and consistency of treatment. The integrated Brainlab Dynamic SGRT technology technology is particularly beneficial in procedures such as Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH), commonly used in breast cancer radiation treatment. In appropriately selected patients, this technique helps minimize radiation exposure to the heart, thereby improving the safety of treatment.
