In a significant political development, Telangana Jagruti President Kalvakuntla Kavitha is set to announce the launch of her new political party on Saturday, marking what is being described as a new chapter in Telangana’s political landscape. The grand event will be held at the sprawling Professor Jayashankar Sir Sabha Pranganam in Munirabad, Medchal Malkajgiri district, where elaborate arrangements have been made to host nearly 50,000 party workers and supporters from across all 33 districts of the state.

The venue, set up across nearly 20 acres adjacent to the Advaya Convention Centre, has been aesthetically designed to reflect Telangana’s cultural and political heritage. Named after Professor K. Jayashankar, the venue symbolizes the ideological roots of the Telangana movement. The main entrance has been dedicated to Kaloji Narayana Rao, while other gates are named after icons such as Rani Rudrama Devi, Chakali Ilamma, and Maroju Veeranna, reflecting the region’s legacy of resistance and identity.

As part of the day’s schedule, Kavitha will begin her journey from her residence in Banjara Hills early in the morning and proceed in a rally to the Amaraveerula Sthoopam at Gun Park to pay homage to martyrs of the Telangana movement. Following this, she will reach the venue by 9:30 AM, where she will unveil the party flag at 10 AM and deliver a keynote address lasting over an hour, outlining the vision, principles, and roadmap of the new political formation.

The event is expected to draw a massive turnout, signaling strong grassroots mobilization. Organizers have also arranged an elaborate traditional Telangana feast featuring 34 varieties of dishes for party cadre and guests, showcasing the state’s culinary heritage with both vegetarian and non vegetarian specialties, along with traditional delicacies like jonna rotte, sarvapindi, and ariselu.

Kavitha’s political journey spanning nearly two decades, during which she played a key role in promoting Telangana’s cultural identity through Telangana Jagruti. Her decision to float a new party is being seen as a strategic move aimed at consolidating regional aspirations and offering an alternative political platform rooted in the ideals of the Telangana movement.

Kavitha launched a sharp critique of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, stating that the party has lost its original spirit and no longer represents the aspirations of the people of Telangana. She asserted that the movement for statehood was built on sacrifice, identity, and collective struggle, but the current leadership has deviated from these foundational values. According to her, there is a growing disconnect between governance and public expectations.

She emphasized the urgent need for a new regional political force that truly reflects the ethos of Telangana and works towards safeguarding its interests. Calling for unity among leaders, activists, and citizens, Kavitha urged stakeholders to come together to rebuild a political platform grounded in accountability, inclusivity, and regional pride. She expressed confidence that the new party would emerge as a credible alternative and restore people’s faith in the political system.
