Kamineni docs successful in rare complicated pregnancy

Doctors at Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, under the M’brace Mother Care, Child Care & Fertility, conducted a safe delivery for a pregnant woman suffering from a rare bleeding disorder Dr. B. Menaka, senior consultant from the M’brace - Obstetrics and Gynecology department, explained that such disorders are seen in about one in every hundred individuals in the general population, but are extremely rare during pregnancy.

The patient, Sangeetha from Chityal in Nalgonda district was treated with appropriate medications for Von Willebrand disease – Type 3, a rare genetic disorder that causes abnormal bleeding. A few months ago, during her first pregnancy, her condition became more complicated due to central placenta previa, where the placenta is positioned low in the uterus. A healthy male baby weighing 2.24 kg was delivered. The mother was treated with blood transfusions along with Von Willebrand factor and Factor VIII medications.
