JHPS, Hyderabad, hosted a session on ACER Educational Programmes & Initiatives, Thursday aimed at strengthening teachers’ understanding of evidence-based assessment, professional development and systematic school improvement.
The session was conducted by Dr. Priyanka Sharma, CEO, ACER India, who introduced the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), a century-old international educational research organisation working across more than 150 countries. She highlighted ACER’s expertise in large-scale assessments, psychometrics, educational research and tracking student learning and progress.
Dr. Sharma elaborated on the School Improvement Tool (SIT), which supports systematic institutional improvement through nine key domains, including data-informed improvement, a culture of learning, effective pedagogy, differentiated teaching, systematic curriculum delivery, expert teaching and school-community partnerships.
A significant milestone of the programme was the signing of an MOU between Jubilee Hills Public School and ACER, formally establishing a partnership to implement ACER’s School Improvement Tool (SIT). The collaboration aims to strengthen student assessment and progress tracking, support evidence-based teacher development, and provide a structured framework for continuous school improvement. JHPS is the first school to sign the MOU for these initiatives.
The school expressed its sincere gratitude to the Management of Jubilee Hills Public School for facilitating this significant initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to professional excellence. JHPS also extended its appreciation to Dr. Priyanka Sharma for accepting the invitation and sharing valuable insights. The programme reinforced JHPS’s commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice and excellence in education.
