IMD issues ‘Red Alert’ for North Telangana districts

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad has announced a Red heat wave alert for the northern districts of Telangana over the next four days, predicting that extreme temperatures may be reached in the region.

The Red alert affects the districts of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem, Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Rajanna Sircilla, and Peddapalli. According to the IMD, temperatures in the areas under red alert are expected to exceed 45 degrees Celsius. In addition to these nine districts, an orange alert has been issued for the other districts in the State.

Night time minimum temperatures are also anticipated to rise. The Meteorological department has issued heatwave warnings for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem, Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Kamareddy, Medak, and Mahabubnagar, cautioning against extreme heatwave conditions throughout the state. The IMD emphasizes the importance of taking extra precautions for vulnerable people.
