In a crackdown on illegal water usage, the Water Board Vigilance wing seized 18 motors unlawfully fixed to public taps in Kukatpally. The inspection was conducted in Dharma Reddy Colony Phase-1 under Balaji Nagar ward, O&M Division-22, between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. during active water supply.
Officials found residents using motors to draw excess water by directly connecting them to pipelines, affecting equitable distribution. Authorities warned that such violations will invite strict action, including seizure of equipment. Repeat offenders will face a penalty of Rs.5,000 along with legal proceedings. The Water Board advised consumers to avoid illegal practices and instead report low pressure or supply issues to officials or contact customer care at 155313 for quick resolution.
