Amberpet Police have arrested four illegal money lenders in connection with a triple suicide case that shocked the city last week. The accused were apprehended on March 2 in Secunderabad Zone for allegedly abetting the deaths of three members of a family in Bapu Nagar, Amberpet.

The deceased were identified as Kadgekar Ramraj (54), his wife Madhavi, and their younger son Shashank Raj. According to police, a complaint was lodged on February 24 by their daughter, Amulya, who found her parents and brother dead at their residence. Ramraj and Shashank were found hanging in separate rooms, while Madhavi was found dead on a bed.

Police registered a case and during investigation recovered suicide notes blaming illegal financiers for harassment and coercion. The family had reportedly borrowed around Rs 57 lakh to run “King’s Biryani” outlets at Mallapur and Chakripuram. The accused allegedly charged exorbitant daily interest, forcibly took blank cheques, promissory notes, MOUs and original land documents, and repeatedly threatened and humiliated the family.

Call Data Records confirmed threatening calls on the night prior to the suicides. The case was later altered to Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (abetment to suicide).

The arrested accused have been remanded to judicial custody. Police seized blank cheques, promissory notes, agreements, land documents and mobile phones used for issuing threats. Further investigation is underway.
