Hyundai’s IONIQ Forest Engages Farmers to Promote Sustainable Agriculture

Kurnool: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), organized a farmer engagement program under its flagship Hyundai IONIQ Forest initiative, bringing together around 60 farmers from a broader group of 290 beneficiaries to promote sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship.

The initiative featured focused activities including an Awareness Workshop - providing practical insights on crop maintenance and sustainable farming practices; Farmer Interactions - aimed at strengthening community participation and knowledge exchange; and Plantation Drive - encouraging participants to contribute to increasing green cover through tree plantation. The program also witnessed participation from district authorities, reinforcing collaborative efforts towards long-term environmental sustainability.

The Hyundai IONIQ Forest initiative continues to drive large-scale ecological impact across India. Key interventions include the development of a 12.16-acre biodiversity restoration site in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu with 5,750 trees; implementation of agroforestry programs across 650 acres in Nandyal and Kurnool districts of Andhra Pradesh with over 42,000 trees supporting farmer livelihoods, and a 90.5-acre Miyawaki urban forest in Pune with over 1 million trees. Collectively, these initiatives have surpassed the milestone of planting one million trees nationwide.With this farmer-focused program, HMIF highlighted its dedication to empowering rural communities, advancing sustainable farming practices and contributing to a greener, more resilient India.
