The Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed a petition challenging the construction of a Rama temple in Akividu of West Godavari district, effectively clearing the way for the project to proceed.

The petition had questioned the permissions granted by authorities for the temple’s reconstruction. However, after examining the matter, the court upheld the validity of the approvals, stating that officials had followed due process and relied on credible historical evidence before granting permission.

The court noted that records clearly indicate the existence of a Rama temple at the site for nearly 80 years. It observed that the authorities had conducted a thorough verification of documents and historical references before allowing the construction. In light of these findings, the court ruled that there was no justification for judicial interference in the administrative decision.

With the petition dismissed, all legal hurdles surrounding the temple construction have now been removed. The ruling is seen as a significant development in a matter that had previously sparked local tensions and disputes.

Devotees and local residents have welcomed the verdict, expressing relief that the long-pending reconstruction can now move forward without further obstruction. Officials indicated that the project will proceed in accordance with existing permissions and regulatory norms, ensuring that law and order is maintained during the construction phase.
