Hailstorm damages crops on 10,001 acres

Farmers in Pedda Mallareddy and Kancharla villages of Bhiknoor mandal reported severe crop losses following a recent hailstorm. Paddy cultivated over about 10,001 acres under the Pedda Mallareddy tank was affected, while mango, maize, and vegetable crops also sustained damage. Government adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir visited the villages, inspected the fields, and interacted with farmers.

He directed agriculture and revenue officials to carry out an immediate assessment of the losses and submit a detailed report. Shabbir stated the findings would be shared with A. Revanth Reddy for consideration of compensation to affected farmers. Officials were urged to expedite the survey process to ensure timely relief measures.
