H-Fast, Operation Octopus among Hyderabad police initiatives: Sajjanar

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at the CAR Headquarters in Petlaburj under the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate on Saturday. City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar unfurled the national Flag and received the ceremonial guard of honor. Remembering the freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence, Sajjanar paid rich tributes to their contributions. He later presented Commendation Certificates to 72 police officers and personnel for their outstanding performance in the discharge of their duties.

Sajjanar said a special H-Fast wing had been established to curb food adulteration, which poses a serious threat to public health. He praised police personnel for ensuring peaceful celebrations during New Year festivities, Sri Rama Navami and Hanuman Jayanti processions, as well as the recently concluded historic Ashada Bonalu festivities. Sajjanar said Operation Octopus had been launched to strike at the financial networks of cyber criminals. Through C-Mitra, a virtual police officer system has been introduced for the first time in the country and more than 1,700 Zero FIRs had been registered so far, he mentioned.

He said the ‘Spandana – Immediate Protection’ women responder system, launched by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, receives an average of 30 complaints a day and provides prompt assistance. The H-New anti-drug wing has also been strengthened, with Sajjanar warning that the police would show no leniency towards drug-related offences.
