Govt revises cinema ticket prices in Telangana

The Telangana government has revised cinema ticket prices, fixing minimum and maximum rates for different categories of theatres. The move is aimed at bringing greater transparency in theatre operations, supporting the film industry and keeping cinema affordable for the public.

Under the new pricing structure, non-AC theatres can charge a minimum of Rs.30 and a maximum of Rs.70 for non-premium seats and Rs.50 - Rs.100 for premium seats. In standard AC theatres, non-premium tickets will range from Rs.50 to Rs.150, while premium seats will cost Rs.100 to Rs.200.

For special theatres with advanced technical facilities, non-premium ticket prices have been fixed between Rs.100 and Rs.250. In multiplexes, ticket prices will range from a minimum of Rs.200 to a maximum of Rs.300.

The government said the revised structure is intended to balance the interests of theatre owners and the film industry while ensuring that movie-going remains accessible to people across different sections of society.
