Rs.92 lakh allocated for celebrations

The Telangana government has announced grand official celebrations for the birth anniversaries of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram, scheduled on April 14 and April 5 respectively, designating them as 'State Functions'.

A high-level Jayanthi Celebrations Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Minister for Scheduled Castes Development, with senior officials and public representatives as members, to ensure smooth conduct of the events.

The government has approved an expenditure of Rs.92 lakh, including Rs.62 lakh for district-level events and Rs.30 lakh for celebrations at the state headquarters. Additionally, Rs.10 lakh each will be allocated to co-chairpersons for organizing the events in a befitting manner.

Strict guidelines have been issued prohibiting the use of the celebrations for political campaigning or speeches, reinforcing their official and commemorative nature. The Scheduled Castes Development Department has been directed to oversee all arrangements and ensure dignified observance across Telangana.
