Metro India News | Hyderabad : Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will visit Medak district on Tuesday and launch what has been described as the first-of-its-kind initiative in the country to plant 35,000 cashew saplings along a national highway. The plantation drive, being taken up under the aegis of Medak MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao, will cover the stretch of NH-765DG between Ramayampet and Siddipet. The initiative seeks to make productive use of available land along the national highway while enhancing green cover and promoting environmental sustainability.

The Governor will subsequently interact with students and participate in an interaction programme at the IDOC. At 2.50 p.m., Shukla will visit the Mahila Shakti stalls at the IDOC and interact with members of Self-Help Groups.
