Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan conducted a surprise inspection at Indira Park on Monday as part of the State government’s “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” initiative, reviewing sanitation conditions and the status of infrastructure in the popular public park.

During the inspection, the Commissioner directed officials to immediately clear the construction and demolition (C&D) waste that had accumulated within the park premises. He stressed that such debris not only affects the park’s appearance but also poses inconvenience to visitors who frequent the park for recreation and exercise.

Karnan also reviewed the condition of the children’s play area and instructed officials to carry out necessary repairs without delay. He asked them to ensure that the play equipment and surrounding facilities are restored and made fully functional at the earliest so that children visiting the park can use the space safely.

Highlighting the importance of proper maintenance, the Commissioner emphasised that Indira Park should be kept clean and well-maintained at all times, considering the large number of residents and morning walkers who use the park daily. He directed the concerned departments to regularly monitor sanitation and infrastructure conditions to maintain a visitor-friendly environment.

Zonal Commissioner Mangathayaru, Kavadiguda Deputy Commissioner Pushpalatha, and officials from the Urban Biodiversity and Solid Waste Management wings were present during the inspection.
