Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha said in the Assembly on Wednesday that former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy's followers were involved in the Madanapalli Sub-Collectorate files burning case.
She informed the house that previous RDO Murali, new RDO Hariprasad and junior assistant Goutham Tej have already been suspended after a preliminary inquiry in connection with a fire that broke out at the sub-collectorate and burnt vital files. An investigation will be conducted under the leadership of Annamayya district SP.
The Home Minister was replying to a question raised by MLCs Tirumala Naidu, Duvvarapu Rama Rao and Parchuri Ashok Babu in the Legislative Council. She informed that Junior assistant Goutham Tej, former minister Peddireddy's associates PA Tukaram, Madhav Reddy and others have already been named as A1, A2 and A3. She said that under the supervision of previous RDO Murali, 79,107 acres of assigned land have been released from the freehold under 22A.
“A re-investigation at the sub-collector's level revealed that norms have been violated in connection with 22,523 acres of land. A preliminary report has been received and an official report is also awaited. The fire broke out due to a conspiracy hatched by former Minister and his followers who wanted to occupy the land illegally and violated the rules. The real conspiracies behind the fire have been exposed by the government.”the Home Minister said and assured that those who have committed wrong andalso those who helped in it will not be spared and legal action will be taken.
MLCs Dr. Kumbha Ravi Babu, Varudu Kalyani and Chandragiri Yesuratnam questioned in the Legislative Council about the huge quantity of drugs coming to Visakhapatnam port through containers in 2024. Home Minister Anitha replied that the case in which a huge quantity of drugs were found through containers at Visakhapatnam port was also under the purview of the CBI.
