Former CBI Director M. Nageswara Rao announced in Varanasi his new political role as the National President of the Sarvajan Sanatan Party (SSP). After nearly four decades of service in the fields of security, law and order, and administration, he described his entry into active politics as a new responsibility in his public life. Nageswara said that Sanatan is not limited to a system of worship, but represents a broader way of life based on truth, righteousness, duty, justice, compassion and public welfare.
He said India should continue to advance in modernity, science, technology and economic development while remaining connected to its civilizational, cultural and historical roots and its traditions of knowledge. Describing Kashi as the starting point of his new political journey, Rao said the city symbolizes India's civilizational continuity, which has preserved its core consciousness despite numerous changes over time.
Four pillars of nation-building
Nageswara Rao linked his vision for the reconstruction of India to the four stages of Kamadhenu, identifying education, healthcare, livelihood and civilization reconnection as its four major foundations. According to him, balanced development across these four areas can help create an India that is modern while remaining connected to its Sanatan civilisational roots. His press conference was held at the Dolphin Grand Hotel in Bhelupur.
