Firasath Ali Baqri Given Representation Letter to Principal Secretary to Government Forest Department

 State Govt. Assured Elephant for 10th Muharram

Hyderabad, June 13, 2026: Senior BJP leader Mir Firasath Ali Baqri has expressed his sincere gratitude to Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy and the Telangana Government for approving the provision of an elephant for the historic Bibi-ka-Alam procession scheduled to be held at Alawa-e-Bibi, Dabeerpura, on June 27, 2026, marking the 10th day of Moharram.

The request for providing an elephant for the revered religious procession was originally submitted by Mir Firasath Ali Baqri and was subsequently forwarded by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy as a VIP reference, with directions for priority consideration.

Acting swiftly on the request, the Environment, Forests, Science and Technology (EFS&T) Department of the Telangana Government issued necessary instructions to the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (P&V) and the Chief Wildlife Warden to initiate action under the provisions of the Captive Elephant (Transfer or Transport) Rules, 2024.

Mir Firasath Ali Baqri conveyed his special thanks to Shri Ahmed Nadeem, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Environment, Forests, Science and Technology Department, and Dr. Vinay Kumar, IFS, Chief Wildlife Warden and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), for their prompt coordination and support in facilitating the long-standing tradition while ensuring full compliance with wildlife conservation regulations and legal procedures.

He noted that the approval reflects the government's commitment to preserving Hyderabad's rich cultural and religious heritage while maintaining adherence to environmental and wildlife protection norms.

Baqri also appealed to the organizers, devotees, and participants of the Bibi-ka-Alam procession to extend full cooperation to the authorities and ensure that the event is conducted peacefully, respectfully, and in accordance with all prescribed guidelines. He expressed confidence that the historic procession would continue to symbolize communal harmony, devotion, and the city's centuries-old traditions.
