Excise Department extended financial assistance of Rs 3.46 lakh to the family of late Chirra Ekambaram

Employees of the Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department extended financial assistance of Rs 3.46 lakh to the family of late Chirra Ekambaram, an outsourcing Data Entry Operator in the Revenue (Excise) Department at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, who passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest on July 8.

The assistance was handed over by Excise Commissioner Hari Kiran, IAS, to the deceased employee's wife, Swapna Latha, at Abkari Bhavan. The Commissioner also made a personal financial contribution as a humanitarian gesture.

The relief fund was raised through contributions from members of the Telangana Prohibition and Excise Gazetted Officers' Association and Non Gazetted Ministerial and Executive staff. The Gazetted Officers' Association contributed Rs 2.75 lakh, while the Ministerial staff contributed Rs 71,000, according to Excise Gazetted Officers Association President and Secretary T Laxman Goud and Chandrashekar respectively.

The Telangana Employees JAC appreciated the department's compassionate initiative and urged the government to provide an outsourcing employment opportunity to a member of the bereaved family.
