Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Sunday inaugurated IRA Universal School at Bowrampet in Medchal-Malkajgiri district and stressed the need for an education system that focuses on character-building, life skills and values alongside academic excellence.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, MP Etela Rajender, MLC Anji Reddy, Hyderabad Central University in-charge Vice-Chancellor Dr J. Anuradha and IRA Universal School Chairman Dr M. Malla Reddy, among other dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said education should go beyond securing marks and degrees and should help students develop confidence, responsibility and ethical values. He emphasised that modern education must equip students with global skills while ensuring they remain rooted in strong moral principles.

Encouraging students to pursue their ambitions with determination, he said failures should be viewed as learning experiences and stepping stones towards success. He urged students to remain focused on their goals and work hard to achieve them.

The Governor also highlighted the role of teachers and parents in shaping the future of children. While teachers act as mentors and guides, parents must continue to provide encouragement and support throughout a child’s educational journey, he said.

Stating that the nation’s future depends on well-rounded and responsible youth, he called for collective efforts to build a drug-free society and create a safe environment for the younger generation.
