Drug peddler and consumers arrested, 1.5kg ganja seized

The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone team, Hyderabad and Tappachabutra Police on credible information arrested a drug peddler and two consumers on Thursday. Accused persons were identified as Mohammed Imran (29), resident of Tappachabutra (Peddler), Ahmed Khan (20), resident of Jhirra (Consumer) and Mohammed Asif (23), resident of Kulsumpura (Consumer). Police seized 1.5 kg of Ganja, three mobile phones total worth of seized property is Rs 77,500 from the arrested people.

Mohammed Imran is a native of Hyderabad and rowdy sheeter of PS Tappachabutra. He has been involved in cases of murder and counterfeit currency notes. To eking to his livelihood, he used to run a trolley auto in Jirrha, Tappachabutra. Currently, he is unemployed and facing financial hardships in meeting his daily needs. Imran hatched a plan to do the ganja business, which is in high demand in Hyderabad.

During this period, he came into contact with Piyush, resident of Nagpur, who had arrived in Hyderabad to supply ganja to his customers. Upon Imran's request, Piyush agreed to supply ganja and procured 2 kg of Ganja from Piyush for Rs 32,000. Imran stored at his residence and repackaged the Ganja into small sachets, selling each sachet for Rs 200 to Rs 300. He managed to sell approximately 500 grams.
