The event coincided with the completion of a 40-day ultimatum issued by the Shankaracharya to the Uttar Pradesh government, demanding that the cow be officially declared ‘Rajyamata’ i.e. Mother of the State and a complete ban on cow slaughter

In a powerful display of devotion and solidarity, hundreds of cow devotees (gaubhaktas) from Varanasi gathered at Assi Ghat on Wednesday to sound the conch (shankhnad) in support of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati's ongoing "Gopratishtha Dharmayudh Shankhnad" campaign. This event coincided with the completion of a 40-day ultimatum issued by the Shankaracharya to the Uttar Pradesh government, demanding that the cow be officially declared "Rajyamata" i.e. Mother of the State and a complete ban on cow slaughter be imposed across the state.

The Shankaracharya, who is leading a nationwide movement to protect the cow—considered the soul of Sanatan Dharma—has been actively campaigning for the safeguarding of bovine life. Remarkably, a cow spontaneously arrived at the site during the event, seemingly drawn by the devotion, and blessed the gathered participants. Addressing the devotees present, Sanjay Pandey, the media in-charge for Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj, emphasized that the Acharya is spearheading a nationwide agitation to protect the life of gaumata, the embodiment of Sanatan Dharma's essence.

By sounding the conch in Kashi today, the participants sent a clear message: not only the people of Kashi, but true Hindus nationwide stand firmly with Shankaracharya Ji. The Shankaracharya remains impartial toward political parties; he will extend his support and blessings only to whichever party takes a firm resolve to protect the cow's life.
