Congress failed every section: KTR

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao, on Tuesday, launched a scathing attack on the Congress government during a farmers' meeting at Laksettipet in Mancherial district, alleging that it had deceived every section of society by failing to fulfil its election promises.

KTR said the Congress had not only betrayed farmers but also misled the youth through its "Youth Declaration." Referring to the recently held Yuva Sangrama Sabha, he claimed that young people had openly expressed their anger against the government and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He asserted that the growing public resentment reflected the government's failure to honour its commitments over the past 31 months and claimed that only 29 months remained for the Congress government.

Calling for the return of what he described as a "farmers' government" under K. Chandrashekar Rao, KTR urged farmers and youth to unite democratically against the Congress. He alleged that if the government continued to ignore public aspirations, Telangana could witness a mass movement similar to the Telangana statehood agitation. He also accused the Congress and the BJP of failing to address the concerns of young people and farmers.

The BRS leader alleged that farmers across Telangana were suffering because of drought and the government's failure to procure agricultural produce in time. He claimed that four farmers had died due to official negligence and criticised the government for failing to extend support to their families despite protests by the BRS. Describing the administration as "insensitive," he alleged that even the distribution of urea had become difficult because of the app based supply system.

On irrigation, KTR accused the Congress government of indulging in politics over the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme instead of restoring its operations. He claimed that if the pumps were operated, water could be lifted to Yellampalli and that coordinated functioning of the Annaram, Sundilla and Medigadda barrages could lift up to three TMC of water per day. He questioned why repair works had not been completed despite only two pillars being affected and alleged that proposals for reconstruction had been ignored. He further claimed that the NDSA had never directed the government not to lift water from Kannepalli.

KTR also accused the Congress government of repeatedly delaying the Rythu Bandhu assistance and alleged that the administration was victimising BRS workers and using officials and the police for political purposes instead of serving the people. He warned that public anger against the government was steadily growing and predicted that the people would deliver their verdict in the next elections.
