Senior Congress leader and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Monday expressed confidence that the Congress party will secure a clear majority in the upcoming municipal elections in Kamareddy and Nizamabad, citing strong public support for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership.

Addressing a press conference on the final day of campaigning, Shabbir Ali claimed the party has gained momentum due to welfare initiatives such as Rs.500 LPG cylinders, free RTC bus travel for women, 200 units of free electricity, and restoration of ration cards.

The senior Congress leader said he campaigned across 45 of the 49 wards in Kamareddy and predicted the Congress could win between 32 and 35 wards, enabling it to form the municipality independently.

Highlighting development works, he referred to proposals worth Rs.200 crore for Kamareddy, including an indoor stadium, underground electricity substations, and expansion of Godavari drinking water supply.

Shabbir Ali criticised the local BJP MLA for alleged inaction and accused the BRS of failing to provide employment during its decade-long rule. Urging the voters to reject divisive politics, he said the election represents a “people’s movement for responsible governance.”
