District Collector Rizwan Basha Shaik has instructed medical officials to take special measures to ensure better healthcare services for patients visiting government hospitals. The directions were issued during a surprise inspection of the Government General Hospital in the district headquarters on Thursday. During the visit, the Collector inspected the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and various hospital wards. He also interacted with patients to obtain first-hand feedback on the quality of medical services being provided.

The Collector expressed dissatisfaction over the unhygienic conditions in and around the hospital premises. He directed officials to clear overgrown vegetation and ensure proper cleanliness throughout the campus. He also instructed authorities to dispose of obsolete and unused medical equipment through auction and to repair non-functional medical devices at the earliest to improve hospital services.

The Collector directed officials to immediately commence repair and renovation works using the Rs 50 lakh already sanctioned for the purpose. Later, during a review meeting with medical officials, the Collector directed the health department to expedite the recruitment process for vacant posts to address staff shortages.
