Khammam District Collector Anudeep Durishetty on Monday instructed officials to take proactive and planned measures for the procurement of Rabi (Yasangi) paddy in the district. The Collector, along with Additional Collectors Dr. P. Sreeja and P. Srinivas Reddy, held a review meeting on procurement arrangements. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Anudeep Durishetty emphasized that procurement centers should be opened based on the harvesting schedule of the Rabi crop.
He directed officials to ensure that paddy is procured promptly without any delay once the centers are functional. He asked agriculture officials to prepare a detailed schedule indicating the expected harvesting time in every mandal so that centers can be opened accordingly. He further directed officials to procure and keep sufficient number of gunny bags in advance as per requirement. To ensure transparency and smooth procurement, the Collector ordered that GPS tracking systems be installed on every vehicle used for transporting paddy.
