The Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha laid the foundation stone for the new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) at Goshamahal on Friday morning. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 2,700 crores, aims to be completed in two years, ensuring that people of Hyderabad and locals mainly benefit from improved healthcare services and economic growth.

Speaking to reporters later, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha emphasized the historical significance of Osmania Hospital, which has been a beacon of medical services and education since 1919. Highlighting its global reputation, he explained that the deteriorating condition of the old building made it unfit for modern healthcare.

Acknowledging the people’s century-long association with the hospital, he assured the government’s commitment to building the new facility at Goshamahal, close to its original location, on a 26-acre site.
