Citizens Specialty Hospital, Nallagandala, marked World Heart Day

Citizens Specialty Hospital, Nallagandala marked World Heart Day with its ‘Don’t Miss a Beat, Be an Informed Citizen’ campaign, organising a 3.5-km walkathon on September 26 in Hyderabad. The event brought together 400+ participants, including doctors, hospital staff, patients and families, senior citizens, a few young people and residents from nearby communities.

The walkathon, from Citizens Specialty Hospital Nallagandala to Diamond Heights Circle and back, was led by Dr. Palacharla Prabhakar, Vice President and Regional Chief Operating Officer (RCOO) – South, Citizens Specialty Hospital and American Oncology Institute, and in the presence of the Cardiology department of the hospital including Dr. Rama Krishna, Senior Consultant – Cardiology, along with Dr. Sandeep Khambampati, Senior Consultant – Cardiology, and Dr. Giridhar, Senior Consultant – Cardiothoracic, Lung & Heart Transplant Surgery.As part of the campaign, the hospital highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, early detection, regular health check-ups and active lifestyles in reducing cardiovascular risk. The initiative encouraged citizens to be informed about their heart health and take small, consistent steps towards prevention.
