The Telangana CID has served a notice to BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, invoking Section 35(3) of the BNSS, compelling him to participate in an inquiry related to a case filed at the Huzurabad police station.
This case pertained to an incident that occurred during the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara in his hometown of Veenavanka.
The allegations against the MLA include obstructing traffic through a road blockade, which reportedly caused public inconvenience. Furthermore, he is accused of impeding the efforts of law enforcement personnel in executing their duties, making derogatory statements about officials, and disrupting public order.
Kaushik Reddy has been summoned to appear before the CID on April 4, accompanied by pertinent documents and identification. He has been urged to cooperate with the ongoing investigation and has been cautioned that failure to do so could result in legal repercussions.
In his response to the notice, the BRS legislator characterised it as an act of harassment, claiming that both his family and party associates are being targeted as part of a political vendetta against him. He emphasised his commitment to scrutinising the government concerning its unmet commitments, notwithstanding the alleged intimidation from law enforcement.
