Census participation is every citizen’s duty: Collector Prateek Jain

District Collector Prateek Jain said that participating in the Census is the responsibility of every citizen and that accurate and comprehensive data forms the foundation for the country’s development.

To create awareness among the public about the Census process, a “Census Awareness Marathon Walk” was organised on Tuesday from the District Collectorate to IB in Sangareddy. The rally was flagged off by the Collector, who urged people to actively cooperate with the Census officials and ensure that correct information is provided during the survey.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said self-enumeration was conducted till May 10 as part of the Census process, while house-to-house enumeration began from May 11. He stated that enumerators are visiting households across the district to collect details from residents.

He informed that special identity cards have been issued to Census staff and appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to them. The Collector also assured that all information collected during the Census would remain completely confidential.

Additional Collectors Sangeetha and Pandu, Additional SP Chaitanya Reddy, district officials, police personnel, revenue staff, enumerators, ASHA workers, students and cultural artists participated in the programme.
